Pillars began in 2024 as a civic-tech platform designed to make politics simple, unbiased, and accessible for everyone. Our team of recent graduates saw how complex and polarized government information had become and set out to build a tool that helps young and first-time voters, particularly those from underrepresented communities, understand how policy affects their lives.

Today, Pillars provides plain-language bill summaries, ESPN-style politician profiles, and interactive civic tools for voter registration, contacting your reps, finding your polling location, and more, all in one easy-to-use mobile app. The platform is currently being tested with a network of students and campus organizations across the U.S., with over 350 users on our waitlist and partnerships forming through Embarc Collective and Realist Labs, and civic-tech mentors from Resistbot and Miami University.

Our impact goal is to lower the barriers to civic participation by improving access to trustworthy political information and digital literacy tools. People can help by partnering with us to expand outreach to underrepresented voters, supporting our pilot programs with educational institutions, or connecting us with organizations that share our mission of inclusive access to technology and civic empowerment.
