BSG Rotunda is an open congressional intelligence platform that makes Capitol Hill accessible to everyone. We capture, transcribe, and analyze every congressional hearing in real-time, transforming hours of video into searchable, shareable insights that anyone can access.
Origins & Mission
Rotunda began as a response to a fundamental inequity: only well-funded organizations could afford to monitor Congress effectively. Large corporations employ teams of analysts and lobbyists to track policy developments, while community organizations, small nonprofits, and grassroots advocates are left piecing together information from next-day news coverage and spotty C-SPAN archives.
We launched Rotunda to level that playing field. By automating the labor-intensive work of monitoring hearings, we've made it possible for under-resourced advocacy groups, community organizers, and civic engagement organizations to stay informed about legislative developments that directly impact their communities—without requiring dedicated staff or expensive monitoring services. Who Benefits
Community Organizations & Advocacy Groups: Track issues like housing policy, environmental justice, healthcare access, and civil rights as they're discussed in committee—not after decisions are made.
Small Nonprofits: Monitor legislation affecting their mission areas without hiring lobbyists or government affairs staff.
Journalists & Independent Media: Access verbatim transcripts and clips instantly, ensuring accurate reporting on congressional activity—especially important for local and community news outlets.
Researchers & Academics: Build datasets tracking congressional discourse on critical issues, from climate policy to social equity.
Engaged Citizens: Follow issues that matter to their communities and hold their representatives accountable in real-time.
